This weekend saw the return of the South West Regionals at a new venue - Plymouth Life Centre.
It was a tough game to start for Ocean City who were playing last season’s league champions (who also lost no games and conceded no goals). The start of the game I was on the bench. Within the first few minutes of the game starting Swindon Rockets got a couple of goals close together. I was taken off the bench and not long after I had been on, Swindon were able to score again, taking the score to 3-0 to Swindon. After another substitution and a great assist from a team mate which moved the ball up the pitch. I was able to get on the ball, managing to keep it in at the corner, scoring Oceans’ first ever goal against Swindon Rockets.
The second half of the game Ocean’s defence was strong and only saw them get one more goal. Final Score Swindon Rockets 4-1 Ocean City.
I was pleased to have got a goal for the team even though we lost the game. I was proud to get MVP too.
Ocean’s second game was against Exeter City. Ocean were on form and we had some good set plays and various assists. I managed to get a couple of goals in early on which was followed by a minor error from Exeter resulting in another goal for Ocean, taking us up to 3. Ocean managed to get in another 7 goals resulting in a 10 nil scoreline to Ocean at half time.
After the team talk the game resumed for the second half, which saw me on the bench for the rest of the game. Ocean scored a further 4 goals resulting in a 14-nil win for Ocean City.
Exeter played well but struggled due to their lack of pace in the wheelchairs they are in.
Looking forward to the next weekend with Ocean City playing Cheltenham & Celtic Storm at Cheltenham's home ground.
